A tribute to the classic Master Model, possessing a rich and powerful sound quality seldom heard in new mandolins. Almost every detail of the Original has been lovingly incorporated into the Wiens F-5. For more info and photos go here.

A lower-tuned member of the style-5 mandolin family. Built to be a close replica of the original, but with a slightly longer scale-length for better response and sustain.

P-5 Piccolo Mandolin:

The Wiens P-5 Piccolo mandolin is an instrument designed to produce the upper range of mandolin tones with volume, punch and clarity. Its chirpy bell-tone and ease-of-play up the neck make it truly distinct from standard mandolin. This instrument simply can't help but inspire new approaches and open new doors for the player.

The P-5's compact, yet comfortable design allows easy access to the upper limits of mandolin tones whithout ever feeling too crowded. This is partly due to a familiar neck width combined with narrow frets on a radiused fingerboard. The location of the body joint also makes the upper register more accessible.

Played solo, the clarity and focus of the P-5 is exhilirating. Over an ensemble, a piccolo mandolin adds a delicious tartness to high harmony lines, nicely completing the range of tones available to the mandolin family as a whole.
